Danielle Staub to Oprah Winfrey: 'Real Housewives' made me consider suicide
Danielle Staub, the former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star, tells Oprah Winfrey that she "got broken so bad" on the reality show that she contemplated suicide. Winfrey dropped in on Staub, a former Wayne resident, for Sunday night's episode of "Oprah: Where Are They Now." Staub, a divorced mother of two, saw her criminal past revealed on the first season of the show, culminating in Teresa Giudice's instantly iconic table-flip, and was chased through the halls of the North Jersey County Club by a screeching Giudice in the second. Two separate alleged sex tapes also surfaced during her two-season stint on the show.
"Unfortunately, there was some really difficult moments which ended up being the turning point for me," Staub says in an except from the episode. One weekend, she asked her ex-husband to take her two children for a couple of days because she thought she would kill herself. "The only reason I didn't is because I would never want that to be the last memory my kids had of me."
