Ebola Fears: Rwanda Raises Concerns Ahead of Nigeria 2015 AFCON Qualifiers.
The Rwandan Football Federation has written a letter to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria before their qualifying match with the Super Eagles in Calabar.
According to the BBC, Rwandan FA boss Vincent ‘Degaule’ Nzamwita said ‘We wrote a letter to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for their advice on the situation in Nigeria; we’re waiting to see if they can change the game, it’s a big worry’ However, the NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire said they will be able to clear up the situation: ‘[Rwanda] are not the first team to express fears. It is natural for teams coming to play in West Africa to express such fears but the important thing is how you respond to these things. If such anxiety is expressed in a letter to us, we will definitely know how to respond to it. We had a similar concern from the delegation of Lesotho and we responded to them and they were satisfied. So we expect to have no trouble whatsoever with Rwanda.’ Rwanda’s national team is scheduled to visit Calabar for their opening Group A match with the Super Eagles on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Additional reports have also confirmed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ordered Sierra Leone and Guinea to get new venuea for their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers because of the Ebola virus outbreak in their countries....
